Gathering Blue is a book by Lois Lowery, it a book about a teenage girl named Kira and she becomes and orphan after her mother dies from an illness. then the otehr women that are her neighbors burn down the cott were kira and her mother lived. so then the authoraties came and took kira to the main building to give her shelter and a lace so she could work on a robe that was used anualy. while kira stays here she finds out that the people working there are doign thngs to the other people int eh village that get injurged and "dont work". thsi book is a great book to read if you like reading the adventures a of young girl left as an orphan :)
